The Macedonian Call

6 And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. 7 And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them. 8 So, passing by Mysia, they went down to Troas. 9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 And when Paul[a] had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go on into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. - Acts 16: 6-10 ESV

What on Earth are we doing, for Heaven's sake?

I believe there is a person for every mission; and a mission for every person. Just take a minute and consider that. No, really - stop everything you are doing and consider the fact that God has a purpose for every person on the planet.

That means that God has a purpose for YOU!!!

If Jesus truly is our Lord and Savior, It behooves us to find that purpose and serve it. When I read Acts 1:8 it struck me that our attention should be on three stages. We ought to be involved in the community where we live, in the region or country where we live, and in the world where we live. Jerusalem, Judea, The World.

We can't all GO and we can't all STAY. We need to bloom where God plants us. But we can be aware of situations elsewhere. We certainly can pray. We can offer encouragement - and financial support.

If God has given you a burden for a trouble spot, I challenge you to pray; privately on a consistent basis, and publicly until your friends are tired of hearing about it. Pray until God hears your cry and moves on their behalf.

Or you can cme along on my quest for Bangkok. Pray with me that God will release these 'strangers in a strange land'. Give whatever gift you can. The Bible says that your heart will follow.
